I am wondering why you would have to swallow the lemon misture. Couldn't you just use it as a mouthwash?

My dentist commented on how I was brushing much better and I did not have as much plaque. The reason for this I believe is the electric toothbrush. It has not receeded my gumline. My periodontist recommends it to help massage your gums and keep them healthy.

Just my 2 cents:

I got the Sonicare electric toothbrush, and it made my gums receed.

No problems with the manual toothbrush, though.

Lanny and Duparc - thanks for the info on the lemon juice and apple cider vinegar! I intend to try it!

However the researchers add that for those who enjoy the feel of an electric toothbrush and who can afford it, they can be assured that 'it is as least as effective as traditional brushing and that there is no evidence that it will cause more injuries to the gum'.

I tried the mixture of the lemon juice and cider vinegar but it was far too acidic so returned to the cider vinegar which I find excellent for oral hygiene.
