Please don't get discouraged. PCOS is a hard disease to understand and accept. Your doctor is giving you provera to get your periods to start. So the provera will trigger the same thing as if you were going to start your periods. So you will bloat and may have a difference of 5 lbs or more (I used to go between 5-10). But DO NOT WORRY, after your periods are gone, it will go back down. Just keep going on your diet, drink LOTS of water and try to walk or exercise a little bit. Sounds funny but it actually helps.
The other thing I'd like to mention is that your health should always always come first. If you doctor gives you a prescription to help you, and it makes you gain a little weight, but helps the other problem, you may want to ask your doctor if there's another medication he could use in it's place.
I have PCOS and am Low Carbing as well. I've been down that road, so if you have any questions what so ever, please feel free to ask. I love to help if I can.
