Default Using a Glucometer with a Ketogenic Diet

I cycle my carbs so I've gotten a glucometer to test how long it takes me to get into ketosis. Also, as I am newer to low carbing and everyone's mileage varies, I want to figure out what, if any, foods will kick me out of ketosis.

I know that 50-60 is where I want to be to take the body into ketosis. I know that I should test 30-60 minutes after a meal. However I'm still having trouble finding answers to a few other questions:

1--Will a meal cause glucose levels to increase regardless? I am testing 45 minutes after a meal of chicken/or a burger, mayo, and Walden Farms No Carb Barbeque Sauce and getting a reading in the mid 70s. Also, about 3 hours after a 45 minute cardio session and 2 hours after a bunless burger with mayo, bacon, and blue cheese had me reading at 83.

Approximately an hour prior to these meals, I have been testing in the mid 50s.

2--If yes to number 1, then what is a normal range?

Thanks in advance!

I wish I had answers for you, but I don't. I have type 2 diabetes and I take meds for it. The lowest that I can get my bloodsugar is in the 70's. Good luck to you.
