Default Abnormal liver function...bile in stool

Ack, my saga with abnormal liver function tests is a long one. Had a very atypical case of hepatitis when I was 17, along with splenomegaly. They almost removed my spleen. Looking back, I am sure everything was due to a Familial Mediterranean Fever flare. I was told my liver functions were abnormal then.

Things were fine until I got really fat, 195, and was drinking heavily. Was told that my liver enzymes were abnormal. Lost some weight, got divorced, lost all kinds of weight, 112 lbs, decided I was an alcoholic, went to AA, got sober. For many years liver enzymes were fine even though I gained weight. Finally ended up at 160 for about 10 years...not happy...but weight was not a pressing issue.

Quit smoking, put on about 10 lbs, then went on Weight Watchers due to hubbys heart scare, at which point I ballooned to 179. Had liver functions done and they were abnormal. I am pretty sure I have fatty liver disease as my doc told me to lose weight. I also had a very sore gut, right upper quadrant and the feeling I was going to pop.

Started CALP and lost 9 lbs instantly. Am doing the Vitamin D regime at 7000 mcg today. Today had a bunch a green stools, quite loose, also very fatty and floating. (I no longer have my gall bladder. Lost that in my 30's.)
Am I detoxing? The full gut and the discomfort in RUQ is gone.

Goodness, mirielle- what a time you've had!
I'm not a doctor and definitely don't know what's going on- you should call your regular doctor and see if they know what it is. I DO know that after being off plan for a few days (like this weekend), and going back on for a day or two, I will experience a "cleaning house" effect from my bowels. I don't know why that happens, and have never had my liver functions checked.
There could be some alarming things going on, or maybe it's your body's physical way of shedding the past.
I would definitely stay on plan and be in constant contact with your doctor. It could be the stabilizer, or a harm. Either way, stay safe.
Glad to see you're keeping it together! Hang in there!

Just wanted to say congratulations on getting and staying sober.... Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question. However, I am curious regarding fatty liver disease as my doctor told me I had it too, but not to worry about it. What is fatty liver disease? Jill

i used to have sudden big time diarrhea for a couple of years after i had my gallbladder out. it lasted 4-5 years and finally quit. it was associated with high fat meals.

oh and, after they take the gallbladder out, the bile goes straight into the bowels and out, so biley stool is normal post gb surgery.

You can do a Google or whatever search for fatty liver, or Non-alcoholic fatty liver, or NASH. I think I had this too- abnormal liver function test results, and 185 lbs. When I lost about 30 lbs the liver enzymes returned to normal. This is something lots of overweight people have.

I am sure that it is fatty liver. Right now my liver would probably be perfect for a pate'...ala pate' de fois gras...rofl.
