Default Karen's Cheesecake - I am so bummed

I am making Karen's awesome cheesecake recipe. Made it with macadamia nuts and that part went great. What didn't go great is that apparently my oven burns hot - so the first 10 minutes at 500 degrees has left me with a pretty dark top (not quite black, but who knows how much darker it will get in the next 90 minutes). I can smell the "burn" and am terribly disappointed. I am not even sure if you can eat a burned cheesecake (if you wanted to I mean). I made a back up one earlier, it's okay, but no crust and not as great as I imagined Karen's to be. This was the main dessert for a party tomorrow. I might consider trying again, but it's an expensive mistake! Maybe cook it at 400 degrees..... Man this makes me mad at myself - I am not usually this inept in the kitchen. I will say, though, the macadamia crust fixings are awesome so it is not a total loss...

It can be saved!

You can turn it into a "pudding" by scraping off the browned bits and crust then puree it in the food processor. You can add some lemon juice and rind if you like. Whip a cup of cream and fold it in. Transfer to a serving dish and refrigerate. You can sprinkle toasted, chopped almonds over the top before serving and serve it with berries.

Thanks, Karen - That is exactly what I will do! It is awesome - the part that isn't burned... I also realized this morning I made a basic mistake - my pan was a dark pan so I should have reduced the heat by 50 degrees.... Thanks for the tip on the rescue!

Just thought I would follow up with the fact that everyone loved the pudding! Thanks, Karen.
