Question I'm five days in

Hello! I'm so glad to see this forum for low-carbers and/or Atkins 20 users. I just started 5 days ago and I'm wondering how will I know if I'm doing this program correctly!! I track my carbs on the Atkins app every day. I have two questions that are haunting me!!

First, if I'm craving sweets, can I eat two or three of the Atkins proteins bars in one day since they're 2 net carbs each?

Second, when can I expect to see results and will they show up on the scale or in the way my clothes fit?

Thanks in advance for anyone who responds!
Kindly,
Patty

The best way to not crave sweets is to continue to avoid sweets. Favorite methods are bacon or dill pickles.

Artificial sweeteners stall many people. Don't sabotage yourself.

And results usually show up on the scale, first, but there's a lot of variation. Get extra salt, try hot salty broth, and start noticing how eating this way makes you feel, as well as how you look.

Thanks for responding. I'm wondering if I should stay away from the Atkins protein bars or shakes then since they contain the artificial sweetness. Even though they are 3 net carbs and are suggested as a snack for a.m. or p.m., during induction, should I stay away from them?
I appreciate your replies! Kindly, Patty

Hi Patty. For initial and optimal weight loss, especially while in the Induction phase of Atkins, it's good to be a bit of a purist and stick to protein, fat, carbs through dark green veggies, or as it's all laid in the Atkin's book.

Many posters on here recognise their inner carb addict ... or their inner sugar fiend ... and found the best way to deal with this fiend, is by denying it even artificial sugar. I freely confess that about once/month, I do allow myself to eat 5 Atkin's bars in one sitting. Usually on a day I only have breakfast and no lunch. Doesn't hurt me since I"m OP every day and going to the gym. But I know in myself I can limit it to that once per month. You have to know yourself, be honest with yourself, and decide what gives you best weight loss, what gives you best control for staying OP each and every day. If the Atkins bars/shakes keep you craving sugar, don't do it. If you can still lose weight on them and they don't increase your craving for sugar, it's possible. Good luck.

Thank you so much for responding. No more shakes and bars for me! I'm starting over tomorrow and doing induction without those misleading foods. Kindly, patty
