Default Where do you get unsweetened coconut?

I've looked in every market in town, and no soap. Or I should say no unsweetened coconut . Forget coconut oil, too. A lot of places carry coconut milk, but that's as exotic as they get.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

Ps: I should mention that the really big market in town (a super Price Chopper) does carry coconuts in the produce section. I've tried wrangling coconuts in the past, though, and would prefer to buy some already flaked, if possible!

Have you looked in the frozen foods section where they put the frozen strawberries? Around here, most grocery stores have the unsweetened coconut in bags in the same area. Surprisingly inexpensive, too.

HTH,

Kay

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it in a regular grocery store, I buy mine at a local co-op.

Here in AZ, Trader Joe's only carries it at Christmas time. Just found it in our Fry's which is a Kroger chain. It was in the baking supplies. Hope you find some.

I agree www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com The store bought coconuts are often really dry and tasteless. I can't even find unsweetened here except Milissa's that is in a small bag and extreamly expencive.

I love the wilderness family coconut and coconut oil though. The taste is wonderful and it keeps great in the fridge.
