Thanks Hayes and Wyodiva. Having someone to talk to whenever I need it is so great. I am doing this more for my son than for me, if I'm honest. He doesn't deserve to have drunks for parents (albeit high functioning ones). For the life of me I'm amazed at how awsome he's turning out. He's 13. Maybe it's because I've always been honest with him about my struggle and told him it was okay to talk about it with his Nana (who's a family counsilor); that he wasn't betraying me in any way. I've experienced what it's like to grow up in a family where problems are ignored or hidden. Anyway, I'm really glad you're here.

Glad to see all of you here! this February 20th I will have 16 years, with God's help.
it just keeps getting better.
With the Cancer, just live one day at a time. My sweetheart only has 10% heart function and could go at any time, but for today we are happy and together, and tomorrow isn't here yet, so to worry over it would just ruin the time we have left.

I'm a newbie and an alcoholic....just found this forum. I've only got 4 months sober trying for my 6th or 7th time in the past 5 years. Thanks for being here.

Congrats for making the decision to stop. After having been sober for a while I'm not sure it matters WHY we do it, so much as that we DO it. WTG!

Sounds to me like your son is lucky to have a mom who won't ignore the elephant in the middle of the room and is OK about him talking about it. That's a great gift to give your kid.

And WyoDiva, Congrats on that 4 years!

We are going to my son and daughter in laws house, My sweetheart has made pork and saurkraut for it, which is low carb, later there are marathon AA meetings so we will go to a few.

our new puppy is house broken already, we got her just before Christmas, early, because the mother weaned her early. she was just 7 weeks old on the 27th.

Happy New Year to all my new friends. Went to bed early and woke up with a smile. I'm in the process of making my list for shopping to start the induction program. I'm completely confused. If I get an email message that someone has posted, how do I get to the posting? I thought I knew it all. This is a trial of humbleness....

There should be a link within the email that you can click on.
Also, you can go to the user CP tab in the top left hand corner and it will have all your subscribed posts there.
Good luck with your induction!
Hope this helps.
