Hi everyone! I'm really glad I found this site. I've been on Atkins since Monday and today is the first day I am totally not hungry. I ate bacon and eggs for breakfast and had tuna and a little cheese for breakfast. How often do you weigh yourselves or is it an individual thing? I am going to weigh myself Monday morning and hope for the best. Actually, I'm hoping to lose 10 pounds during the induction..lol..wishful thinking. I am such a carb freak...potatoes, bread, rice, cookies. Now those foods don't appeal to me at all. Hope this works. Susiebugg

Hi, and welcome to the site! You need to make sure to get your 20 grams of carbs from mostly green vegetables, as per the Atkins book. I think expectations of losing a certain amount of weight may set you up for disappointment.

A general rule of thumb is that a person will lose 10% of the weight they want to lose during induction, and 5% every month thereafter. The less you have to lose, the longer it takes.

I tend to weight every morning, but only count it on my "weigh" day...the day I write it down and update everything.

Welcome!

Beth

WELCOME SUSIEBUGG!!!

Weighing in is a personal option. I like to weigh in every morning as a matter of habit and keeps me in check. I've been on Atkins for 7 weeks and have lost 15 pounds...I still have 45 to go but this WOE (way of eating) is extremely easy and has given me a real challenge which I feel I am winning...so GOOD LUCK to you also and again WELCOME. Remember to drinks LOTS of water.
