Default Your Meds experiences...

I'm in my third week of induction..[doing Atkins on/off for 15 years always a diabetic while doing this]

Blood Sugar was all over the place...fighting to keep it under 200, Just went on 80 units of Lantus 4 months ago to get it down from 300.

Second DAY on induction, BS100, with NO Lantus..

WAS on

Metformin
Glyburide
Actos
Juanuvia
80 Lantus

First day of the diet Cut out the
Lantus

Seventh day after BS of 67 [felt really spacey]cut out the
Glyburide
and Actos

now always between 100 and 130

My Dr. wants me to stay on [go back to] the Actos and Glyburide...

I say, why?

Both will hamper weight loss [and both contributed to this last weight gain]...no?

And my numbers are good? Good for me anyway?

Any thoughts?

BTW, I lost 18 pounds the first two weeks....

See Jenny's Blood Sugars 101 regarding oral diabetic drugs. (blog and book). Metformin is great if you tolerate it, and insulin does not cause weight gain if you keep the carbs (and my case, protein) down.

You are doing great, and as some would say on here, You know more about your diabetes than anyone else on earth.
