Unhappy Dreadful story...

I found this story online today and it angered me. I don't mean to upset the group by sharing it, yet it seemed like something others should read. Perhaps it will even motive...

What a horribly sad story! I feel for that family! That survey was pretty shocking for me too! --- I can't understand how the public could think that the family should be responsible for making sure the casket is the right size -- isn't that what you pay a funeral home for? How could a family know if a casket is going to fit an indvidual? It's not like you hurry up and measure your loved one before they are taken to the funeral home! Unbelievable! Granted I have been fortunate and not had to bury many loved ones, so maybe I'm ignorant on this subject - but I just thought that it was the funeral home's responsibility to make sure that things like that were taken care of!

What a sad story...I've always feared that paramedics would not be able to move me in an emergency.....or that I wouldn't be able to be casted...I got stuck in an MRI machine once...thank goodness after removing some padding they could get me out without calling in the fire dept.....too many humiliating experiences to last a lifetime....
My heart goes out to this family.

It's a little hard to believe that the funeral director didn't know anything. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall while the preparation of the body was being made.

Very tragic. I'm afraid that this type of problem is only going to get worse as America gets fatter and fatter. All we can go is make sure that we (and our families) don't follow this trend.

This was a very upsetting revelation. If what the family of the deceased said is true... then the funeral director, and funeral company should be held liable for false representation...

Everyone, especially those who can't speak up for themselves, is entitled to respect and caring. I'm suprised these people are in that business if they don't understand that basic courtesy.
IMHO the fault is entirely with the funeral directors, they should have done their job properly.
