Default Mashed Turnip with Bacon

This is soooooooo good!
Cut Turnip into pieces. Boil until very tender. Mash with butter.
Fry Bacon until crisp.
Mix Turnip with crumbled bacon.
Serve piping hot! Who needs potatoes!

i make this as a sub for ugly potatoes. we call it ugly turnips. i don't mash mine up really well, so there's still some chunky pieces in there. and in addition to the bacon, try adding some sour cream and a touch of parm cheese. with some pork rind coated chicken breast, it's heaven on earth.

Just wondering, does this still have that zingy turnip taste, or does the boiling get rid of most of that?

Sounds good! My grocery store has prepackaged turnips that are already peeled and cut into chunks (in the produce section over by prepackaged salad greens). I'm going to try this with one of those packages and see how it turns out.
