I haven't taken the position "my current state diet is example of the perfect diet". What I'm doing is making changes and improving my diet from "current state" to "better state". This, I'm finding, is far more sustainable -- for me -- than jumping from "current state" to "perfect state".

I remain fairly confident that Lee at 264lbs is considerably healthier than the Lee at 309lbs. While it would take no effort to find flaws comparing my current diet to perfection...it is equally no challenge to realize that my current diet is a huge step forward than what I had been eating.

Perfection is the enemy of progress.

I understand where you are coming from Lee and I myself have chosen to try something that will be more sustainable that I can live with for life and not yo-yo diet. That said, there is more proof building that simply being overweight and even obese are not markers for heart disease and that eating a combo of fat and mid to high carbs is quite dangerous. You need one fuel source or the other, playing with both is akin to playing with fire. So the thinner Lee may not be healthier. And maybe you might. I'd be on my blood tests every 3 months or so on a diet like you are on. But I can tell by your attitude that you seem to know it all already. So, that said, I have passed on the message. You do with it what you like.

Wonder why Lee's posts are in the confession booth? When one confesses, we flubbed up and wanna come clean on something we ate...Lees posts make sense but I think they need to be in a journal...not in the confession booth thread....just saying....

I no longer question the wisdom of the moderators....but it was not me who put this thread here. I -thought- I was sharing how well I handled a trip to NYC, enjoying the food without destroying my progress.

I am moving down the LC ladder, not starting at the bottom and moving up. I don't expect I'll ever have the relationship with food I hear some describe. For me, it's not crack cocain. I can eat in moderation pretty much any food.

Lee,

Why are you so combative and argumentative? Maybe the moderators should move your thread to the War Zone. We get it--you ate carbs on your trip to NYC, you feel like you're working the plan successfully, and you still lost weight. Great. End of story. Why all the fuss?

If food is not crack cocaine to you, and you can eat anything in moderation, why are you on a LC diet in the first place? Not being mean or insulting, I'm just curious.
