Default Legs & muscle

Hi all,
I would like some input please! My question is basically: is running/walking intervals outside (aprox 4 miles, 45 min) enough muscle building for legs (female, 30 y/o)? I also do these "lifts" to get the backs of my thighs, and inverted pushups (butt pushups someone called them lol).
I do this 4x a week, followed by 20 minutes (non stop, to muscle fatigue) arm, shoulder, back, core with a light 6 lbs- 2 threes.
I want to be sure I am building muscle to help burn fat. What do you think?
Thanks!

All I know is that resistance training is the best according to the experts. Also, the slower you lift the weight, both directions, the better.

Hi Mama-2-4,

The muscles in the legs are about the biggest in the body so using those is actually very good for weight loss.

There are three exercises that will principally help you get the most out of using your leg muscles. They are Hindu squats (there are plenty of videos on YouTube how to do those), walking or running up and down stairs and finally 100 meter sprints (sprint in one direction, walk back). Do that as many times as you can up to 4 times and that will be enough for that session and for most people you don't need to add any extra weight as the weight of your body give your legs a sufficient enough work out unless you want to be Arnold Schwarzenegger of course.

Hope that helps,

Mark

I think you're doing the right thing but what I always consider is to walk up and down stairs, running is not that important for me as I am contented on its current effects
