Hi guys,
After reading a success story on here about a guy who started out well over 300 pounds and me noticing that his waist size was the same as mine at about 100 pounds less, I got stressed about my apple shape. Anyway, it seems I've been achieving some success on my highly ketogenic phase so I thought I'd share.
Supposedly, inches are supposed to drop off more quickly the larger you are because your total circumference is proportionally larger. But when I just looked at my stats I found that I lost 6 inches off my waist going from 260 to 220, but 2.5 inches off my waist going from 220 to 218 - it's like I flipped a switch and suddenly could "lose the belly fat" as they say in the infomercials. I am still above the size 24 waist size range
but I see there is hope to actually get more of a pear shape that will fit some smaller sizes. I am losing in the waist even at times when my weight is not going down and my arms thighs and hips have gotten disproportionately bigger which I suppose is muscle. My husband's theory is that I lost all the fat off the rest of my body, it had nowhere else to go.
Anyway, this is what I've been doing:
Cut out dairy
Strict carbs between 10 and 30
High fat
Restricted portions/restricted calories - I am not hungry but I never feel full either
No nuts but macadamia nuts
Reduced exercise
I hope this is helpful to someone, at least for the knowledge that inches loss can speed up even after large weight loss. And maybe someday I will stop whining and complaining about being in plus sizes until I die.
