Default Dr. Eades Lecture: Linoleic Acid Is Uniquely Obesogenic

Great talk by Dr. Michael Eades just posted by Low Carb Down Under. He also goes into detailed explanation of localized physiological insulin resistance.

I swear the vegetarians were wrong about everything. Sugar, starch and vegetable oil will be the death of us, when all we should have been eating was fatty beef. And not just wrong, but precisely, exactly wrong. The dietary recommendations we were give were the exact opposite of the truth.

Thanks for posting this talk. I haven't read much from Eades lately, yet he and his blog was a huge influence for me after Atkins. Every Newbie should know about him. I love the way he stresses cut the carbs first cuz that's the main deal. Carb cutting is probably the first thing that all newbies should fully understand before jumping onto Paleo, Keto, fasting , because it really takes a while to learn, and yet it's probably the simplest first step. I can't imagine trying to fiddle around with fats and oils (Paleo) while trying to learn that chestnuts are loaded with carbs. ("wait, aren't chestnuts from trees"). I can't imagine trying to fast if I was still regularly eating bread and frosted cake ("Wait, Fung said this wouldn't be that bad, maybe I shoulda eaten unfrosted cake cuz it has less fat?")

Anyway, now I have to check out olive oil and linoleic acid. I gotta go find my "know your fats" book, by Mary, er umm, er Enid... That's it, Mary Enig, another huge influence in my life.
