Default Greetings from MA!

Hi there, fellow low-carbers! This board was recommended as a good, active support community in a facebook group I also just joined (it never occurred to me before that these types of boards existed!).

I've been on a low carb lifestyle since 2012, when I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia. I was a high carb vegan at the time, so I kind of went in the opposite direction after that!

I've been vegetarian since the late 90s, but sometimes I'll have some fish! Everyone I know subscribes to the Snackwells philosophy of nutrition, so I'm here looking for a bit of community.

Thanks for reading - I look forward to hanging out with you here!

Hey, PL, Welcome! Check out the board and it's information resources. There's a lot here to absorb, so take your time and enjoy.

I have one question, South or North Shore???

Welcome Liz,
Glad you found us! Unlike FB pages, where the same basic question seems to be asked on a five day cycle once falling beyond the first page, we have fifteen years of LC advice all organized by topic. You can even search..tap Search box, but then you must use Advanced Search which brings you to a regular Google site limited box.
Look all around the many sub-forums, there is one for vegetarians but not very active, read back through older threads, http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=109. Also you can start a journal, join a buddy group, etc. I gained sixty pounds as vegetarian who didn't do Snackwells, but loved my artisan wheat bread and steel-cut oatmeal. That didn't work out so well I went to college "outside Boston" and lived in town after graduation...so I can translate do you still eat pierogi with flour and potato? Not so LC, though there must be versions that are cauliflower and coconut?

Thank you for the kind welcome!! I've been lurking around the past few days, and there really is so much information! And don't worry, I won't spam "WHAT DO I EAT?" in 30 different places.

Rob - North shore (and nice signature )

Janet - That must have been great! Boston is such a fun college town, plus all those museums! And that accent...

I actually haven't had a pierogi in about 4 years, but I think you may have just inspired me to try making a cauliflower and coconut flour version!

Again, thank you both! I'm really enjoying working my way through these threads and articles.
