Unhappy Bad Day Today (Depressed)

Well, this is my 11th day, and I've had a terrible couple of days. Depression has started to kick in. The only reason I can come up with is that I already have a problem with seratonin, and now I'm not eating anything with seratonin in it.

Today, I went to the healthfood store and bought some awsome low carb candy bars. Now, I'm feel'n a bit better...but I almost lost it today. My husband asked me if I wanted a hot fudge sunday (he can't stand seeing me depressed). I told him no; I'm gonna fight this and stay on it. I've already lost five pounds! I just hope this depression doesn't stay with me

Eating had been my solution to feeling uncomfortable. Angry? I would eat over it. Sad? I would eat over it. Nervous? I would eat it down.

I would eat to avoid feeling what I was feeling. You know what? It didn't work. I would eat and still have those feelings. And I grew fatter and fatter.

I would like to suggest the book 'Potatoes Not Prozac' to you. It goes deeply into the connection between seratonin, beta-endorphins and how you can recover by following a LC food plan.

DeAna i am sorry you are having a low. Have you read the summary of Dr. Calvin Ezrin's book "Your Fat Can Make You Thin"? He is the only one I know of that tackles the seratonin issue. The summary is on the site ( here
http://www.lowcarb.ca/atkins-diet-a...ntrol-diet.html).
Maybe his suggestins would help you. I think they have helped me.
