Default living on base for a month- help please

Good Morning all,

I'm going to be living on the base for a month.
My room will have a bar fridge, coffee maker and microwave.

Access to groceries-I can take a cab to shop, so I can only buy what I can carry into the shacks.
I would like to avoid mess food as much as possible.

Any meal ideas please?

Breakfast and dinner I can eat in the shacks, lunch must be portable.

Thank you

Hi, surreal. I don't know what "the shacks" are but this sounds a bit gruesome. Hope you can get a green vegetable and a piece of meat (not smothered in sauce or gravy) at the mess.

For your mini-fridge:
--cheese sticks
--pre-boiled eggs, ready to eat
--summer sausage or meat sticks made without sugar if you can find them
--dill pickles and olives
--microwaveable bacon or sausage

OTher stuff:
--walnuts, almonds
--pork rinds
--peanut butter if it fits your diet

I make an egg drop soup with chicken bouillon, fresh egg, pork rind "noodles"--very filling, but not especially nutritious.

Best wishes.

Hi from a former reservist! Is your mess that bad? I was at Borden (Ontario) for a month, and our mess was pretty good for LCing. At breakfast, there was sausage, bacon, cheese, and an omelet bar (in addition to the carb crap, of course.) At lunch/dinner, think I remember sticking to the salad bar, and just grabbing whatever meat and veggies they were offering.

At least you're not stuck with IMPs.
