I am up .4 today. And bleeding like I have been slaughtered. You'd think the weight would go down, for cripes sake.

KATHY - Thank you for the link! I am playing around with it now. I'm glad to hear you are gung-ho to get back on plan. It is amazing to see how much weight the body can put on after a cheat meal (or 2 or 3) It is good that most is merely water from your glycogen storage. Easy come, easy go. I hope you can burn off that glycogen pronto and be back to fat-burning mode! Go Kathy Go!!!

CRICKET - I understand what you mean when you mentioned the need to feel in control by going strictly induction. That makes perfect sense! I want to join you on your quest, but frankly, I am quite sick of inducting. I think I am going to continue what I am doing now (my carbs are around 10-15). I am doing salads almost every day now, whereas they were a blue moon thing in the past. Let's see how long that lasts. MY big "resolution" is to try and get the most nutrition bang from my buck. Which is why I have been trying to eat avocados and stuff. I need to start eating more than just meat and fat. So in THAT sense, I am with you 100%!!!!!! I do not want to fall into the "fast food" temptation of eating fried chicken again!!!! And I certainly hope there are no emergencies in my near future, forcing me to live on purse food such as cheese and sausage again. ----- It is too bad you had to sneak in the chocolate. But I am happy to hear you decided it was not satisfying!!!!! I don't think I could control myself with chocolate. It is like a drug to me. It is something I miss terribly, but such is life. The cocoa drink seems to satisfy me enough, and that is all that matters. Good luck with your menu today!!!!!!!!!

CHRISSIE - It is great you remained stable! Your shrimp and wings sounded awesome. Today is a new day for a new start. Those darned family things are so trying. It is hard to sit there and deny everything. It makes you feel deprived. I avoid those situations like the plague. It is the only thing I have control over. Too tempting. Well, I surely hope this day goes easier for you!

----------

Today we get to make those steaks!!!!! I will be careful to weigh my portion on my new gram scale. My daily protein requirement is 73g min - 121g max. For me, steak is notoriously easy to over-eat!!!!! This raw steak weighs almost a full lb, So I will have leftovers for tomorrow. I will have my salad and avocado with the steak, and I do have some shrimps for later tonight (sautéed in butter with lemon and a creamy horseradish dip). I should be able to stay within protein level - actually, I am planning on 74g. My lovely cream and a serving of yogurt will round out my menu. My yogurt is a good source of fat. Today's carbs will be 15 and cals will be about 1295. My keto ratio is 1.87.

I am putting TOTAL carbs in the ratio calculator. If I subtract fiber, my ratio is actually 2.12 - but I am always wary of subtracting fiber. Much of it actually does get utilized by the body, but much slower. I read that somewhere. I take it to heart.

I have been spending a lot of time with this post and I have already updated it to include Chrissie and Cricket's latest posts! So I will be back later to see what the news is for the rest of us. Have a great Sunday all!!!!!

Down a little, but I'll take it. I have a pill that I take occasionally when needed for inflammation and I can't find the 2-3 that I have left. My foot is so swollen today, that I am having trouble getting around to do anything. I know they are old and probably expired because I don't take them very often, but I also know that pills are usually still good well past the expiration date. The doctor gave me another prescription the last time I was there so I guess I better get it filled. One or two doses will totally eliminate the pain and swelling.

We don't have a good gym where we live. The closest "chain" gym like planet fitness is probably a good 90 minutes away. We have a small community gym that is run by donations and volunteers along with a $30 membership fee. However, it is not very big, and after work hours, it is usually over run with college kids who get a free membership and you have to wait for the 3 bikes or the 5 or 6 treadmills they have. We have a treadmill, two bikes, a cardiofit, free weights and an ab machine in our basement. It's just tough to force myself to go down there to do it.

Relative to induction, I am much better when I decide to do induction. I know it's a mind thing, but if I get it in my head that I'm doing induction, I am not hungry and have no cravings for off plan foods. I can usually get through those tough few first days without any problem because I have a "plan".

Kathy: Sorry for your gain....but you are always good at getting it back off. It's amazing how quickly it can come back.

Paulette: Sorry for the slight gain. I was always the same way. Any time I had heavy bleeding or a really successful time in the bathroom, thinking I was really cleaned out and down in weight, then I would see a slight gain instead. Enjoy your steak dinner!

Himi: You know your pattern, so no worries!

Cricket: You sound like me. Sometimes, if I had nothing in the house and was on one of my binges, I would be into chocolate chips, marshmallow crème, pancake syrup...anything that I thought would satisfy my cravings and nothing did. Hope you enjoy your meal with Jodi today and you can have a fresh start tomorrow.

Chrissie: You did well. I also don't enjoy social functions anymore due to the food and always seem to worry about what they will be having to eat. Unfortunately, we seem to have a lot of them. It was nice of your husband to take you to a restaurant where you could get something you could enjoy.

Hi Guys ... PAULETTIE>> YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO INDUCTION!!!! are you serious?? I would beat you down if you were going to start THAT! You are FINALLY increasing carbs without going into shock and passing out from fear Your foods are wonderful and you are getting into normal eating patterns for WOL. Keep it going! Hope you see that OB/GYN again soon! That is crazy. You have got to feel the seffects eventually and become exhausted.

BARB... I got good and sick from the pumpkin bread and chocolate.REALLY SICK UGHHHHHH.... Carl too for that matter.
The choc.tasted just aweful to me.Like eating plain cocoa powder. I LOVE to have the DV sugar free syrup and it is delish. Better than the WF in fact, which has now a strange taste to me. I am happy I went off the track to eat that stff.. never want it again! I am certainly getting rid of triggers nicely.

I really believe that induction IS needed for anyone going off track for more than a few days. All those poisons are in our bodies and minds.
I have to go back to to that site and figure out that ratio deal AND admitt to just seeing the total numbers etc which were the same as the ones I had before anyway.

BARB... the pills will be OK until they literally are breaking down. MANY will just get a bit weaker at the most. I am sorry about your foot. Do you know what the causes are? CAN you put a support wrap on it to help the tendon out? At least you live with a PT!!! Sorry no gym there, but can you use the rehab area one at your facility?

we are leaving in a few hours so still have time to get the mop of hair dried... OH.. BARB>>> how is the hair loss doing??? Mine is starting again sigh...

I will fo to the new thread and if need be, repost the link.
