Default Vytorin Inquiry

Curious about controlling cholesterol; took Vytorin for 2 years; got total Cholesterol down to 136, but felt less energy; been off the stuff for about 1 month; energy returned; cholesterol was at 218 before taking; would like to diet and exercise to keep cholesterol under control; any recent data to review, concerns?

A cholesterol of 218 isn't bad and the potential side-effects for statins are awful.

Loads of articles in my signature about cholesterol and statins. Read up!

Total cholesterol is a lousy marker for health, including coronary health. A level of 218 isn't even high, anyway. People who have heart attacks have cholesterol levels across the board. Statins are pretty risky, too. Vytorin, in particular, has had some issues. You'll notice that their "food and family" commercials that used to run every 5 minutes stopped - that was after a lawsuit.
