As the title says, I love this new way to eat. I'm following the guide from
www.dietdoctor.com. But half of me is terrified. I'm now one week old.
I did Atkins in 2002, but did not fully understand about eating fat and that dietary cholesterol is good. This time I'm literally going about this by following directions to the T.
I seem to have gained a couple lbs., but will not give up until I've got a month under my belt to reassess. What I have noticed is that I feel better, have more energy, and amazingly, have no desire or craving for the carbs.
For the past two years, I've followed the advice of portion control, low fat, healthy carbs. In the first year I lost 50 lbs., and my LDL is now at 130, and my HDL is at 65. My doctor is very happy with my progress. But this whole last year has seen pretty much nothing where my weight loss is concerned. I need to lose another 40 lbs. I am currently 185, female, 58yrs, 5'3". I play racquetsports, race dragonboats, walk, etc.
So, I need to know my weight gain is normal, that my meals are not heart attacks on plates, and that overdoing heavy whipped cream will not sabotage me. (At least dietdoctor.com says it won't.) I am less hungry, don't want as much, so something good is happening.
Thanks for listening. I look forward to your support and inspiration.
