Default Ala ris a alamande

Hi,

I have really been enjoying the kitchen forum here. I had grown so weary of a lot of things and this place has really inspired me. So today i made my own recipe with cottage cheese.

4 oz cottage cheese
2 tablespoons of cream
1 packet of splenda
A splash of vanilla extract
A teaspoon sugarfree jam (i prefer raspberry, cherry or strawberry)
Mix it all well and it tastes like Ris Alamande. A dish servered in Denmark as a dessert after the christmas dinner. I post it here because i have it for breakfast.

They make it here in Sweden for the holidays also and I love it. I never thought of doing this. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Lisa,

Well then were not that far apart ) I visited Sweden during my summervacation. We saw Glasriket amongst other things )
I have been lowcarbing a year now on and off. And a huge thing for me last year around christmas time was this dish. I SO love it and nobodoy could help remake it in a lowcarb version. Having read a lot about how to use cheese instead of flour it suddenly struck me how easy it was *lol* I hope you like it. Its not quite the same but taste and consistensy is very similar.

I love cottage cheese with sweetner and cinnamon, so I am sure I will like this. The Danish style ris almande is a bit different than the Swedish style, but I like them both. The only reason I know about the Danish style is because we traveled by boat from Copenhagen to Oslo last November and they had a Christmas buffet onboard. Yums!

I love Copenhagen and Hälsingör. It's getting time to pay a visit again soon.
