Tater, I know... I know... insisting works sooooo well with 20 something kids, having recently been there and done that and learned the lessons the hard way. (But I'll never admit my mom was right... Never I tell you! Never! )

Iowababy and Newman (the dog) decided to have breakfast, together. Found both of them with their mouths full of dog food.

Coffee, please! My day has already started out with an ice storm and a wardrobe malfunction. It can only get better from here, right??

By the end of the week our snow will be gone, but I'll be a mother-in-law to someone I don't even know. Weird trade-off.

Iowa- be glad it was just dog food. My doctor's wife discovered a new twist to potty training. Emily had discovered where Kitty "went" and Linda walked into the laundry room to find her hunkered over the litterbox, taking a dump.

Yikes! Fortunately our litter box is covered so she can't see what kitty is doing....

Have you talked to soon to be son in law on the phone?

Nope. Nada. Laura's talked to HIS family and they're thrilled to have her in the family. Operating under the assumption this was a new boyfriend, and that I'd get to meet him in July when he was going to have leave and supposedly come to visit here... I was going to take my chance to meet him and get to know him then. I can't just go from 0-60 that fast. There's also the fact she was keeping it from me just how serious it was getting because she thought I'd be mad.

I think she finally understands that I'm ONLY going to get mad if she hides really important things from me.

I am proud that I managed not to yell or ANYTHING. Having already used up my one allowed I-told-you-so for the entire year on telling her how I knew she would be happier getting rid of the butthead, I'm not entitled to another until after the new year, so I'll wait.

Well call me old fashioned but I think Navy-boy should pick up the phone and make your acquaintance. Any man in his right mind should know how important it is to have a good relationship with his mother in law. If he doesn't he will probably find out the hard way......

He's already uttered the words "listen to your mother" enough to annoy Laura.

I really should respect her privacy enough to not go into gory details. Lets just say it's all happening a LOT faster than I can keep up with, but I'm doing the best I can. She's got to have her adventures NOW, because there will come a time when she'll need to take over responsibility for her brother that would mean globe-trotting won't be an option. I'm fixing it so that she'll never have to PHYSICALLY care for him, but she would need to be near enough to help oversee his affairs.

Barb, I keep wondering what I can possibly say about the elopement. Nada. Not a clue.
