That is really cool, Renee. Amazing how things can change. So happy for you.

Getting up extra early is a major life change (at least to me) -- I'm still trying to get up early to exercise... so far, no go. Exercise happens later in the day, or evening. But, better than NOT!

Happy Tues.

I wish I could just get out of bed and exercise, but I have to have my coffee first. Maybe I will work on this for the new year.

Aw. Thanks. I adapted it from a Drew Carey quote "Eating crappy food isn't a reward. It's a punishment." Changed crappy to carby.

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday.

We went to my in-laws for our Christmas celebration. Checked with the Hubs ahead of time to see what they were serving. Good thing. All there was for me to eat was chicken, celery, and some mixed berries. I ended up bringing a green salad and that was enough of a meal for me. My in-laws are former vegans so thought there would be more veggies. Nope, but there was organic mac & cheese and gluten free crackers and chips. My mother-in-law also wanted to give me some of her crustless dessert, but it was sweetened with stevia and maple syrup.

Isn't that always the case, Vegans or former who eat no veggies. You're right that you would think they should have cooked veggies.
But organic Mac and cheese
You did good bringing your own salad :thup
Just wondering, Did they eat any?

Nope. They didn't eat any salad (but my kids did). Probably because they couldn't verify that everything in it was organic. They are really big on organic, free-range, and gluten free right now.

You know what I always think, it's just as important what we do eat as what we don't eat.
Meaning any kind of salad is better than no salad so good thing you brought and great for your children too!!
You're feeding them well!!

I just started yesterday, however, I have done the low carb before and maintained for several years. It was easy once I got past the induction. I love this site and how everyone is so helpful, it's very encouraging. Thank you all for being so kind.day two has been easy, I got a little cranky today, I'm guessing it was sugar detox..lol.. with all the junk I ate over the holidays.

Good morning everyone! Sitting under the dryer right now (getting my hair foiled)...catching up on how everyone is doing.

Today is my one year anniversary of following Dr. Westman's low carb, low sugar, high fat diet. I started on Dec 30, 2014 and have stuck to it ever since. I started at 280.7 and this morning I weighed in at 183.8. That is just shy of 97 pounds lost this year. I have 13 more to get to goal, but am feeling pretty pleased with myself this morning.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Happy New Years Eve everyone! This is a super busy day for me. We are getting ready for our annual New Year's Eve seafood feast and also getting ready for vacation. We leave on Jan 2 and come back on Jan 11. Doing a 5 day cruise and then the rest of the time in Disney. I may or may not be on tomorrow, but probably will be MIA after that. Wanted to wish you all very Happy New Year!
