Default Problem spots and loose skin

Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone here has ever tried the Sculpting Gel by PBL (http://www24.netrition.com/pbl_sculpting_gel_page.html). I do not expect a silver bullet to my problem areas, but if it helps at all, I'd be willing to give it a shot. Still, for $40, I figured I'd ask if anyone here has tried it, first!

Oh, and... I did try to search for this here, but since "PBL" and "gel" are too short to be searchable terms (man, that drives me nutty), what I get is 750+ results for "sculpting"... not what I was looking for at all.

Anyway, just curious.

Robin

I personally don't think there is anything you can apply topically to your skin that'll sculpt it.

I use three creams from Reviva Labs

Question: I have slackened, loose skin on my throat and arms due to weight loss.

Answer: Dieting and weight loss has a severe effect on skin elasticity. When you start your diet, you should be using #385 Elastin Night Cream and #391 Elastin Ampules on the throat; and #388 Elastin body Lotion on your arms. But it's not too late. Feeding your skin the proper elastin products can help you regain some of your elastin/elasticity loss.

alpha lipoic cream (lots of antioxidants)

collagen cream

elastin cream

I apply these once per week and you typically notice a small tightening about two days after you apply them. It is not a miracle - but seems to speed things up twice as much.

You can buy them from other websites and get them for about 40% off

Forty dollars, hmmmm?

I'm sorry it looks like snake-oil from its website; you might read the wiki-entries for FYA (forskolin, yohimbine and aminophylline) before spending that much.

How are your workouts going? When I'm bored with my workout, I hunt around for fixes. That foam-rolling for soft tissue massage etc. is starting to sound attractive....

Good luck--

The workout thing is a good point. I've been walking, 45-60 minutes 5 times a week (occasionally it's less, but occasionally it's more) and the last few weeks that hasn't felt like enough so I've added some running intervals. I still enjoy doing it, but I just don't get the rush out of it that I used to. I've been thinking about adding something else, just not sure what, since time is an issue. Maybe buying a bike, I don't know.

The other part of it is that as I'm getting smaller, my problem areas (belly, thighs, and bottom mainly) become more obvious to me. So, I'm not really looking for a magic bullet, and I don't expect anything to fix everything, I was just wondering if anyone else had tried it. I saw it, and was curious.

But yeah, I have a toning video I should probably add, for a start, anyway.

I have the same. I'm just jealous you have $40 I don't have....

Bumped into this article; of course, no consolation at all, but there it is.

I think that your alternatives are plastic surgery or just waiting it out and hoping that your skin will eventually shrink back one day.

How much does plastic surgery cost?

Not to mention all the medical stuff you have to endure.

My experience is that the creams speed things up.

Right, my bad call on the "snake oil" -- sorry, and no offense to the topical cream crowd. From the website, this compound looks like a vasodilator w/ herbal alkaloids: it might well have a temporary effect. Then again, you might get a similar cosmetic effect with sunless tanning lotion (which reduces the appearance of dimples somewhat).

And what's forty bucks? Only twenty-eight and a half short drip coffees at Starbucks.... (since caffeine's a vasodilator as well).

Cheers--
