Default Back on the wagon

Hi all. I started this journey back in 2016 at about 311 pounds. Went down to 210 over 18 months. Moved away from strict low carb for about a year now and I am trying to get it back into gear again. My weight range has been hovering around 210 to 230 pounds for the last year now. (Currently 223 lbs) Which is great since I have not gained back everything I lost, but frustrating because I have not recommited myself back to low carb completely. I am looking to make this a lifestyle and not a quick fix. Hopefully with support I can get over my 210 pound hurdle and down to 170 which is where I would like to be. I would love to develop the habits of lifelong and sustainable healthy low carb living.

Welcome, Bronx Tony!

My story is similar. When I started on Atkins last year, I was pushing 240 and feeling awful, and sick of feeling awful. I've been maintaining around 210 and feel so much better. My original goal was 199 or less, but the scale stopped going down around 209 and instead of getting frustrated, I decided to go with the flow and celebrate being 30 lbs. lighter. Someday I think maybe my weight will float down closer to 200, maybe not. I'm concentrating now on continuing to do what works for me and not fool myself into thinking I can go back to what I was doing before I lost the weight and expect good results. (Close to the definition of insanity.) Some days are easier than others.

Best to you on your journey. You're in very good company here.

Perhaps you can look at what is holding you back? WHy are you NOT jumping back into this way of eating again? what do you think you will Miss? Write that down and look at it. Will you really miss this? Can you find a subsitute? Or is it too hard to give up those things so you want to keep the status quo?

Only you know when you are ready.

Start a journal and post in it! Make yourself accountable or it will be too easy to slip back to old habits.

Kudo's to you for picking back up the mantle early before it got out of control!!
