Smile New here, have a question for you?

First off I want to introduce myself. My name is Andrea and I am 28 yrs old. I was diagnosed woth PCOS in 1999, but I am sure I have had it since I was 17 yrs old. I have one daughter who is 1 yrs old from IVF. I am currently ttc#2. I just started Atkins on Sunday and hope this will help me to lose a bunch of weight. I look forward to getting to know you all.

My first ? is, will low carbing reduce the levels of my male hormones (testosterone, DHEAS, androstenedione) since my are elevated?

Secondly I have done real well on my diet so far and haven't been hungry the last few days now all of a sudden I am hungry today, all day? what could cause this. I am following induction very striclty and haven't had any extra carbs?

Thanks again.

Andrea

Hi Andrea,

My nurse at our infertility clinic (who told me I have PCOS) told me that eating a low carb diet will lower your levels. I certainly notice a difference since starting CAD last Sunday. No more terrible cravings or being exhausted. My husband and I are currently trying also. I have a child from a previous relationship and started having PCOS symptoms after he was born.

Gook luck with conceiving!
