I read about l-carnitine and ordered the 500mg. I started taking 1 a day with Q-10 and have started losing weight again. I had went for a while and not lost any weight even though I was not cheating on the atkins diet. Anyway I am losing weigh again and happy. I have to say I am 57 and feel my matbolism has slowed down and the l-carnitine has jump started it again, I hope safely.

This worked big time for me. Have been on it and noticed the difference right away. We have a Vitamin Shoppe and they have a say right now at 50% their brands. I paid under $25 for 150. They are 250mg. I was at a stall and this did it right away.

YEAH!! After not losing any weight for 4 weeks, I went on the L-carnitine and the weight is moving again! 2 pounds! Not much, but after watching that scale just sit there and not move, it is something!

I just bought this 3 days ago, because I was tired of not being able to get into the 180's no matter what I did, and I lost 1/2 pound THAT night, and then this morning I woke up & had lost 1.5 more pounds, which FINALLY brought me into the 180's this has also helped my husband start losing again. I bought mine at Wal Mart for almost $11 for 30 pills Personally I could care less how much they cost as long as they do the job Two thumbs up!!

Ive been in a two month stall and the L-carnitine sounds like a great solution. Does anybody know if there is a risk of raising your blood pressure? Diet has worked great to drop mine and would hate to screw it up.

L-Carnitine is listed in Dr. Atkins' Vita-Nutrient Solution as a nutrient to LOWER blood pressure. (I highly recommend this book.) I take it to help with weight loss and blood pressure.

So, go ahead and try it!

I started taking l-carnitine about a month ago and it has really helped me. I'm now back on track. about the blood pressure thing i have always had low blood pressure and I feel tired when I get up untill I take the l-carnitine. After about 1 hour I feel like my old self of 10 years ago, the energy I mean. I think it just ups my metabolism, low metabolism runs in my family. My sister takes medication every day for low metabolism.

For those who have had success with L-Carnitine, how much are you taking?

I've been in a 9 mo stall and my check list of no impacts looks just like yours!!! I've been so frustrated. I have L-Carnitine and only sporatically take it...don't know why, but now that I think about it, when I was loosing, the best weeks were when I was taking it. About 3 weeks ago I took it for 3-4 days and lost 4 lbs that week...not past my stall weight, just re-loosing those same lbs in a 5-10 lbs range the last 9 mo. I'm going to run home on my lunch hour and grab that bottle!! I find if I carry my pills with me, I am better about taking them...because I'm hardly ever home. Another story for another day....

Butterball, I'm just going to take 500mg/day as the stuff is so expensive. I know a lot of people take more than that though.
