I participate is a different cycling forum and low carbing is often trashed. I am always surprised at how many bikers do low carb, although they usually keep quite about it.

BTW, argueing with a certified nutritionist is a good way to go insane. Logic and reason and science don't matter, just what they were told in school 'carbs are good, fat is evil'.

may seem off topic, but somehow this post brought it to my mind.
If we were such vegetable eating people, as primitives, how come we didn't draw pictures of plants on those cave walls? Why didn't they draw what a potato looks like? After all, they grow underground, you would have to identify them by the leaves above ground. But, yet, they went to a lot of trouble to draw animals, and how they were hunted..hmmmm...

2bthinner and jumpin' ... too many truths on this forum. People just like putting things in their little black or white boxes and go on their way. No further thinking required.

Then they may be interested in this study which basically proves that assertion wrong.

Here's another study with a similar result for trained endurance runners.

A lot of people don't understand the basics of a low carbohydrate diet. It was also mentioned on the boards that a diabetic should avoid ketosis, because it will lead to ketoacidosis. Any diabetic, who has ever had a high bg, and experienced ketoacidosis, knows there is a HUGE difference between the two. Ketosis makes you want to get up and dance. Ketoacidosis makes you feel like you’ve been hit by a train, then dragged for a mile.
