Default 40.2 pounds gone in 2 months

Today is my 2 month anniversary from when I said enough is enough and chose meat over wheat. I can honestly say that so far I have not cheated one time. Not one grain of rice, french fry, spoonful of cake or candybar. I did however have a couple mouthfulls of whip cream about 2 weeks ago that were almost heavenly and I felt like I had cheated, but alas, I was good

I really suck at being social, I wish I posted more. I try to keep a journal but I'm not really too good at that either. I do make a point however to update the first page of my journal when I weigh in and update the numbers when I need to, but even then sometimes I forget to weigh myself.

So today marks 8 weeks. I am happy with my progress so far. I am starting to notice things are becoming a little easier to do, that used to really kill me before. Like making dinner or cleaning up around the house. I even load and unload the dishwasher now - my wife loves that. Last week I washed and detailed our truck. I am using the 4th or 5th hole in my belt instead of barely getting the 1st one to latch. My ankles aren't swollen and now you can see both of my ears if you look at me straight on. These are just a few examples.

I don't really like reading books unless they are about business or some kind of marketing so I didn't read or follow mr atkins plans. I just winged it and continue to wing it.

I really want to lose 100 pounds in 1 year.

My milestone is doing this for 2 months now. I know, not a very long time in the big picture, but every time I tried lately it was good for about a week or so before I fell off the wagon.

Just incase anyone is wondering I haven't exercised. I plan on joining the gym sometime soon though. I still have ankle pain but sometimes I don't and I am noticing little by little its becoming managable.

Heres a sample of my daily menu:

Breakfast: Kinda miss it because I sleep late
Lunch: 2 Cheeseburgers (1 slice of cheese each)
Dinner: 2 Pieces of skinless fried chicken with chicken seasoning

Then the next day I will do the chicken for lunch and the burgers for dinner.

I drink a lot more diet coke than I'd like to admit and I hardly ever drink water. I think water messes me up.. I can't say for sure, but I've got a feeling.

Thats my story!

FANTASTIC! Way to go on the loss!

I know how you must be feeling, which is great! You can easily loose the 100lbs in one year, just stick to your guns and focus on your goal. I truely feel the weight loss is 75% psycological and having the right mind set. This is my second time around at significant weight loss and I know it works, we just have to keep moving forward and let nothing stand in our way. I'm now on my 7th month since i started again and I'm down 86lbs, my goal is to loose 100lbs by June 1st, which I'm on track to do if I don't screw it up...lol. It can definatly be done. 5-6 years ago I had lost about 130lbs in one year and I started at over 400lbs, its just to bad I let myself gain so much back, but here i am again.

I havent done any exercising until the past few weeks, now that the weather is a bit nicer I have been walking and riding bike, so we shall see if that makes a difference in the weight loss, but I do know I physically feel better getting some exercise in.

Keep up the great work and if you need any help or have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Congrats on your loss.
As a long-term member of the board...and of the Triple Digits Club, I have seen a number of people lose a hundred pounds (or more) in a year.
I am included. Twice.
4 times in my lifetime.
Of the people who have been here long term you will find some folx are very successful in keeping it off. THEY are the ones to emulate.
A VAST majority put the weight back on by unrealistic goals or eating a diet that is not sustainable by THEM in the long term. Or believing they are FINISHED dieting when they reach their goal weight.

I am looking forward to you being one of the success stories. I am hoping I will be as well.

Agree!! I read and reread those long term successful folks posts, stories, and journeys to try and learn whatever I can. Ultimately we each have to find what works for us individually--whether it be what program we follow or don't follow, the type/level of carbs that work for our bodies, and what way we personally can realistically eat long term...

Thanks for sharing your story and wonderful results!!! Congrats on your TERRIFIC success both in losing weight and in feeling better and moving more!! It's only going to get even better from here!! CONGRATS!!

congrats on your loss and you have such a good attitude about it.

I will tell you that I was a RAGING diet coke fiend ... every other time i did atkins I refused to give up the d.c. ... I have this time and i really do feel better in a myriad of ways. All I drink is water and a bit of green tea once a week or so.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate all of your coments and support.

I am still drinking (some) diet coke but do want to give it up someday soon.

I couldn't believe today as i weighed myself I was less than a pound away from my 50lb milestone. Being here is part of my morning ritual. Wake up, weigh in and update my journal haha. It gives me something to look forward to.

You all are MY inspiration and I thank you again for all of the support!!

Awesome work!

I gave up the Diet Coke at first, but went back to it. I just gave it up (again) 3 days ago. I've been hovering at my weight for a month now (and I know I can go lower...I got a real body fat test done and there is plent left LOL) and thought it might help me break my little stall. So far, downward movement 3 days in a row. I'm thinking it might not have made a difference when I was heavier, but maybe now that I'm past my original goal, it might be more of a factor. Everyone responds to these things differently.

Best of luck to you. Keep up the fantastic work and you'll be blaizing past 100 in no time for sure!

MisterE- that is so true! I have lost significant amounts of weight in the past, because I had viewed my goal weight as the end, instead of a new beginning (maintainence). Also, in the past, I ate very unhealthy, low-fat, high-carb foods, which never really freed me of my addiction to the bad carbs.

Also, I love the quote from Jack Handy! classic

Wow- way to go for your sucess so far. keep it up!
