I think I may have gotten my last post wrong. Were the Ding Dongs the rolled up ones or the hockey-puck ones?

Does anybody remember Suzie Q's?

Oh yes! And no, this is not a healthy conversation. There was always that competition between "Suzie Q's" and "Swiss Rolls"... my friends were either in one camp or the other.

This reminds me of my old donut baking days. They started out being pretty real (like real custard filling, etc), but over the years they slowly changed into being totally fake. Fake fillings, fake frosting from a bucket, fake jelly. Sad. Shelf life, food cost, loss prevention all got in the way.

What I find interesting is that this thread has generated more activity in a short time than most threads in the other areas.

Seems like you guys are passionate about your Twinkies.

I don't like them, but I'm wondering what will happen to the infamous fried twinkie

I saw something on TV about this. They showed people using twinkies as hot dog buns.

Oh wow, are Funny Bones made by Hostess? I'd forgotten that. Funny Bones were my FAVORITE. I would buy a box of them and eat them all in a single sitting back in the bad old days. I *loved* Funny Bones.

Twinkle twinkle little bar, how I wonder what you are? And if perchance I was to eat, my teeth might rot my feet might stink? So in your wrapper you will stay to tempt me yet another day. Twinkle twinkle little bar ...

Funny Bones are made by Drakes, but Drakes is now owned by Hostess.
