Perhaps a bit unorthodox, but I'm (sort of) joining this group as well. (ok, my wife is, but she doesn't post). We just found out that my wife is about 6 weeks pregnant. We'll be first-time parents at 41! Ah!!
She's doing well, if tired. Fortunately, she has the choice of not working so she's spending a lot of time crashed and taking naps. She's also experiencing periodic nausea throughout the day, but not bad enough yet to throw up.
For me, I'm excited, but because it's so early yet, and we're a little past the normal age for this, I find myself being cautious in committing my full emotions until we have a better idea of how secure the pregnancy will be. I'm not exactly sure when that would be, but the little I've been able to find indicates the real danger zone for early miscarriage is the first trimester. Once we get past that psychological barrier, I have a feeling I'll be almost unbearable with anticipation. I have to be careful already not to just stare at my wife in wonder. She says I'm looking at her like a science experiment.
So, if the forum is open enough, I'd like to join as well and perhaps contribute my own viewpoint as well as learn as much as I can from y'all.
Thanks!
