Wife (DesertDog) joined yesterday and I joined today. Started the Atkins diet on August 11 with a weight of 242.5. Weight today is 229.0 and so far I have had no problems sticking to the diet. Wife and I give each other support and that helps a lot. Visited the health food store today and purchased a few Dr. Atkins products. The things that I miss the most are bread, Mexican food, and a glass of red wine every afternoon. The things that I like the best are fish, beef, and pork.

Hi Desert-Dog

Just wanted to say a quick hi and welcome to the forum ... I have been on the diet for about a month and have dropped about 14 pounds ... it is a great WOE ... there have been a lot of bad press in the media in the UK recently about the Atkins diet, but i think the results speak for themselves!

Have fun and speak soon!

Lindy

Thumbs up Atkins Diet

My Cardiologist is the one that suggested that I go on the Atkins. We hear both good and bad rumours but as long as it works and is safe, that's what counts! I've tried Slim Fast and other diets but just didn't have the willpower to stick with them.

Hi dale

I dont think many people can still to diets like slimfast as they require such willpower, and I would much rather have a 'proper' meal than a milkshake ... the pasta dishes that slimfast have brought out are gross!!! this woe is so much better, and you can eat a more 'normal' diet with a great choice of foods!
