Bren, just click on my siggy link and when you get to my site, click on condiments for my recipe and instructions. That's the recipe I've been using for years. I love to put my Shawarma Spice blend in it (1 T. per 1 cup recipe) now all the time. We just love that flavor on salads, sandwiches and for recipe sauce cooking as well. The Shawarma spice recipe, if you're interested, is in the Spice category on the right side of the page.

Oh sure! Make your mayonnaise, let it cool and you can use it in any recipe that calls for mayo. I made a Bleu Cheese Salad Dressing using my homemade mayo and let me tell you...it is awesome!

By the way...HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO everybody! Just popped in for a peek while I had a couple of spare minutes at work

I use Greek yogourt instead of sour cream for dill dip as it's thicker. Equal parts yogourt and mayo, dill weed, garlic powder, and celery salt to taste. I use lots of dill.

Liz, you weren't nagging.....I appreciate the concern.

Helllooo bak at ya!

I had in mind doing it all at once, instead of in stages. Make mayo add sour cream spices then coool.... Guess we could use mayo for chicken salad too...

Never been much of a yogurt fan... Don't keep it in the house. NOT sure I've even had the Greek variety... Stuff DW makes is plenty thick for salad, fish, shrimp, etc... Much thicker than most salad dressings... Fewer carbs than tartar sauce or salad dressing or cocktail sauce...

You probably could do it all at once, but I think the mayo thickens a little bit more as it cools and I don't want it to thin down my creations

Mmmmmmm...used the last of the mayo in a tuna salad today and will definitely be making more tomorrow!

I was out all day - first the gym & then back home to get cleaned up. Got together with a old friend this afternoon and was there nearly 4 hours! And then had to stop at the grocery store or there would not have been anything for dinner. Lots of catching up to do!

Good morning everyone.

Thanks to all who posted mayo recipes. Peggy, I visited your website; your recipes look delicious.

I will be spending the day in the Texas Medical Center having a cardiac workup. It is difficult not having coffee this morning. I hope that is the largest difficulty of the day. ;-)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning

I have had those tests within the last few months and they are not bad at all...just time consuming...and no coffee to start the day is the biggest stressor...hope all goes well.

Just a flyby this morning...have a good day everyone....

Hey, all! I'm not gonna even try to catch up. Beautiful Daughter is having blood pressure issues with her pregnancy(we are concerned about pre-eclampsia) and I'm just focusing on her at the moment. This thread moves so fast and I can't do it justice right now....so, I'll be back when things calm down....
