Default Favourite chef or cookbook?

My partner is a real foodie and mostly vegetarian...and loves to cook. (Unlike me.)

She recently offered to cook more low carb meals for us but I need to find her a good cookbook. She doesn’t like browsing through online recipes.

Any thoughts? Who’s your favourite low carb or keto chef? Karen’s Low Carb Gourmet seems to be out of print, and there are so many keto books I don’t know where to start.

She’s a big fan of Ottolenghi and Marcella Hazan, so this doesn’t have to be “comfort food” or “meals in minutes.”

I’ll take her shopping to Indigo this weekend but i’m curious about cookbooks that low-carbers-who-like-to-cook recommend?

Thanks!!!

Pity she doesn't like on-line recipes, but I will suggest this for you. The DietDoctor recipe section has dozens of ways to filter the results, i.e. vegetarian, dairy-free, by carb level, by meal, metric/US conversion built-in, etc. Gorgeous photos and finding exactly what you will both enjoy is a snap. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/recipes

For a print cookbook, I'd agree with Halle Berry...Maria Emmerich's 2016 Quick & Easy has good recipes and she includes lots of veggies. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/nu...book/ar-BBLFq4J

More of Maria's other books and on-line recipes to try out if you wish to check her style first: http://mariamindbodyhealth.com/?s=recipes

Another print cookbook I like is Everyday Ketogenic Kitchen. Carol Ketchum goes overboard on the sweet treats for my taste, but this book was more dinners and her new book (coming out soon?) is all Easy Dinners. When I do need a treat for special occasion, I check her website first. https://alldayidreamaboutfood.com

I love Karen's Low Carb Gourmet book and it is still available on Amazon.ca:

As a Brit, I love Tom Kerridge, and can really recommend his book Tom Kerridge's Dopamine Diet: My low-carb, stay-happy way to lose weight

I can also recommend:

Thank you!
These are very helpful.
Also, i’m going to create a Pinterest board with recipes that seem to fit the ven diagram of our tastes, sort of “pre-browse the internet” and thus create a sort of on-line cookbook for us.

Kyndra Holley has written a number of good low carb cookbooks.

https://www.amazon.com/Kyndra-Holle...ine_cont_book_1

I received Craveable Keto for my birthday, and the recipes are pretty good. The first part of the book is a bit of a description of her experiences, and an overall coverage of keto concepts...so it's also a good all-around book to share with non-LC folks.

I have several good recipes from George Stella that I like to cook. He was/is a chef that gained a tremendous amount of weight. Some one gave him an Atkins book and that started his weight loss. He has a web site and has several low carb cookbooks that you can purchase. However, I was not looking for vegetarian recipes when I was looking for things to make for myself.

Most of his recipes are Atkins based.....or at least that is how he started. He lost more than 265 pounds. IN fact, his whole family lost weight eating the low carb meals he cooked for them.

heres the link to his web page.....it also lists his books.

Thanks for all these great ideas!
It doesn’t have to be vegetarian, just not always meat-centred. Well give a few a try this fall now that the h*ll that is September in my life is over.

I have to 2nd Maria Emmerich. I got "The 30 Day Ketogenic Cleanse : reset your metabolism with 160 tasty whole-food recipes" recently (checked out of our library) & was surprised by the number of fairly simple recipes. I like to cook, but I don't like a list of 20 ingredients or ingredients I have to drive to Spokane for - small town groceries don't have a lot of esoteric stuff.
