I use protein , that is, lots of meat protein, to transition from a higher carb plane, to when I go OMAD.

This coincides with decreasing the carbs, including the lc foods, to completing eliminating these on a given day, usually not back to back days. That means skipping a salad, though an onion, usually a leek or scallion at this point in the game is used to season the meat. Then Im sure to add more fat to the meat. For example yesterday the lamb was rather lean, and needed OO and CO to bring up the fat level. Otherwise, fat is used to replace a second meal and /or a third meal. As fats go up, the protein amount then comes down.

.During OMAD I have some days that are meat, herb and leek. And other days, add a salad. When hungry, the progression is from a meal, to a fat preferably beef fat or butter, then that too is eliminated and water is consumed. So as you said, the body uses the body fat at this point......

As I do Like to eat, I cannot stay on OMAD for long term... simply a tool....

There are effects of things like bacterial endotoxins on the immune system. Endotoxins aren't proteins, but there a sure sign that potential pathogens are present.
