This video on SWEETENERS & SUGAR ALCOHOLS ON KETO will distress many folks, especially if they enjoy keto cheesecakes and cookies. Dr. Westman teaches counting total carbs, even for sugar alcohols. Erythritol has 4g carbs per TEAspoon! and it really adds up when adding a 1/2 cup of Swerve to some treat. Now that the holidays are over...it is something to consider. The video has a longer explanation, maybe some can handle it, and he also has a good section in his new book about this controversial topic.

Catching up on a year's worth of Dr Westman news…

A former LowCarber member started his new Keto Made Simple course last Thanksgiving, created through the Adapt Your Life company. Even though Pat had eaten LowCarb for many years, she explains in this video interview with Dr Westman how the course and on-going support group helped her lose 83 pounds in the first year. All details about the course linked. https://youtu.be/-eNCWq-Pteg She gives good explanations of the program.

I also highly recommend the book, End Your Carb Confusion, written with Amy Berger, if you do not want to delve into much of the science, nor do any tracking, etc. The book has three simple phases, and Phase3 is very flexible when you are near goal/maintaining.

I no longer admin Dr Westman's local support group, being busy with Marty Kendall's groups, which are not on Facebook. Can find links to them at https://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=484792

Thanks for the links on sweeteners. I've often thought that using sweeteners of any kind to create "low-carb treats" diminished the long-term success of the LC way of eating. Sometimes the difficulty is sugar addiction, which is not helped by eating sweets regularly.

Of course, LC critics claim that this way of eating is not sustainable, because people inevitably want bread, desserts, etc. Standing in the way of our cravings is part of the "secret" of success.

Best wishes for your continued coaching career.

The Adapt Your Life YouTube channel now has over 500!! Videos.
https://youtube.com/c/AdaptYourLife
I doubt there is any LC topic he has not already explained. These videos also include the Basic How To talks given at the in-person events, those are supposed to re-start next month. Raleigh, Atlanta, and Virginia.

Some of Amy Berger's talks are on this channel, plus she has her own YT channel and website. https://youtube.com/channel/UCmDz-SYYhoerycynsCm7L8g

In line with my own diet adjustments, very popular is "Women..Eat more protein!" and the new videos on Keto long term and Micronutrient Insufficiencies.
