Default How Much To Eat?

I need help from some of you other SBPer's out there. How do you know how much to eat? I am NEVER hungry. I really don't know how she expects you to down all that food! She says in her book if you are eating only 15 carbs per meal, which I am, you MUST eat two snacks. The trouble is, after eating the meals she suggests, I am not hungry when it comes time to have a snack. But I go ahead and eat it anyway because she says you have to. Then, when the next meal time rolls around, I am REALLY not hungry for the meal because I ate the snack. It seems all I do is eat. Help!

I think she says somewhere that if your metabolism is really damaged, you may not feel hungry. I'm pretty sure in TSP I she says to eat anyway, especially breakfast. The snacks for me are pretty small, so I'm usually hungry by meal times. Are you perhaps eating too much at meals and snacks? Maybe cut down your portions at meals and see if you are slightly more ready for a snack. Maybe you just aren't a snacker- How about jumping up to the 20 grams at a meal and eat a lighter snack? HTH. Let us know how it goes!

I battled with the snack thing as well. You know, I subscribe to the theory that you should eat when HUNGRY not on a schedule. IF you are eating well, you dn't need a snack. BUT, you could taper off just a few bites at regular meals and see if that helps. I rarely eat a snack, maybe twice a week. And RARELY more than one snack.

I don't follow her plan as written, but have tailored it to my own body's needs. You will also. Just eat WHOLE FOODS and stick with WHOLE CARBS and you will do well. Don't forget the fat!
