Default Exercise Order

Dan, in a post a few weeks ago you suggested working muscles in a particular order (this was for upper body, triceps, biceps etc). I tried it out and felt an immediate difference the next day Can you give me an idea of the order for lower body? I always start off with squats, followed by lunges, dead lifts, calf raises, this exercise off the T-Tapp website that works just about all the above mentioned muscles, and then abs.

Thx for the help
Nat

Default good stuff

Squats followed by lunges and deadlifts is a killer!

Doesn't get much harder than that ...

I wouldn't change a thing, what you are doing is pretty demanding. If you are looking to take it up a notch, maybe add step-ups. They are torture.

If you are working in a gym, after you are done the heavy leg stuff, but before calves and abs ... try doing leg extensions.

but do them like this:

Select a weight on the machine (say ... 50 lbs.) Lift it up with both legs, but lower it SLOWLY with only one leg. Use every fiber in your being to resist that weight. If it drops like a rock, it's too heavy.

Alternate legs on each rep until you do 5 on each leg.

So it would be:

both legs lift
right leg lowers for a 5 count
both legs lift
left leg lowers for a 5 count

That was 2 reps. Keep going ... you're doing great ... Looks good ... LOL

Thanks, Toots. I'm doing them at home, so I will continue with what I have. I'd read that squats and lunges always come first as they use the largest muscles... I just experimented from there on.

Default yep

That's right ... Do the big, compound moves first.

If I come across anything dazzling in the way of leg training, I will send it over to you.

But pretty much, leg training is a pain in the butt. Literally.
