Question Any advice?

I have been following a lowcarb diet for 6 weeks now without significant results. I'm not really overweight but I'm trying to slim down somewhat and gain some muscle mass. I'm a 18 year old male. My workout schedual is pretty rigourous, I alterntate running and lifting 6 days a week. I also do an average 2 hours daily of martial arts 6 times a week. A friend of mine is following a similar diet to mine (with the exception that I eat more protein) without any of the exercise and getting much better results. I am attentive to the carbs I intake and I have even tried zero carb but to no avail. I don't want to become built like a bodybuilder, I just want to lose about 5% body fat, and gain a little muscle mass. I don't think I have the time to do a detailed CDK program but if that's the only solution than I'll do it.

My question is what am I doing wrong and what should I do to correct this? And should I try CDK?
