Default Nausea?

Hi all,

I have recently (last week or so) become really nauseous.
Of course it may have nothing to do with diet, but thought I'd see what others think.

I've been atkinsing for about 8 months, 20-30 carbs a day, with a carb blow-out about once a month.
I've recently upped my exercise (strength training) and wonder if it's affecting me ketosis-wise? I saw someone else mention nausea when they're deep in ketosis.

I hope this makes sense.
So in your opinion, could it be exercise/diet related?
If so, should I eat more, (Low carb, more carb?)

On the other hand, I think I've dropped a fair amount of fat recently and don't they say you release toxins etc from that?
Rambling on...

Are you taking any meds, vitamins, or minerals? Vitamins on an empty stomach are notorious for making one queasy.

Has your nausea continued? Maybe it was a little stomach bug/virus or some bad food?

Are you eating enough food?
The infamous "Kimmy" had all her disciples aiming at feeling slightly nauseous all the time (SNATT) due to eating too little food.

Not sure of age/status, but are you pregnant possibly?
Do you eat lots of fats? Sometimes if I eat too many fats, especially later at night, it gives me a slight nauseous feeling. A digestive enzyme usually makes it much better.

Loads of people who thought they couldn't get pregnant go on Atkins, and then, SURPRISE. Just saying.

FWIW, I became worried that I wasn't getting enough protein on Atkins so I upped my protein intake. My first response was to become nauseous.

Thanks for the feedback.
My instinct is that perhaps increasing strength training and keeping my diet the same has meant that I'm no longer eating enough.
I'm going to start inching my way up the carb ladder and see how that works for me.

Eating enough what? Protein or carbs?

In my mind that COULD work but it may not. I've considered it, i.e. upping carbs to counter a lack of protein, but the keto calculator ( http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ ) does not account for trading carbs with protein. When I asked teaser (a good sounding board) he was not sure. The question revolves around how the muscles are limited, I think. If the limit is glucose energy, then carbs and protein can be exchanged. If the limit is muscle recovery then the only protein will suffice, I think........

Your question though was about nausea. Again, the only experience I had was that it took a few days for my gut to get acclimated to increased protein when I consciously increased my intake.

Being constipated can make you feel nauseous. Have you tried upping your fiber if you don't "go" enough?
