Hi Y'all! I'm Angelle; I recently had a doctor's appointment where I learned that I am insulin resistant and have high blood sugar (123). So many people around me seem to take it for granted that as we age, chronic illnesses follow. At (almost) 54, I feel like I'm in my prime with my best years yet to come. I want to get fit and fulfill that promise. I am doing Atkins and look forward to learning on this forum.

Welcome Angelle
You have found a great forum for both information and support and you have read two good books to help you too. You are in your prime, so take charge of your health. At 65, I must be in an "extended" prime thanks to low carb living.

Hi, Angelie. The information you've just learned is so valuable. Welcome to a great place to learn more about how you can live a healthy, comfortable, and energetic life ahead.

I've been lucky to inherit every possibility of an "extended" prime. But weight management (since 1996, LC since 2003) has been a matter of choice. I hope my next 70 years will be as productive as the first.

Best wishes.
