Default Hot chocolate

Lots of you probably make versions of things like this, but I thought I'd post this just in case. Its a simple, quick way of making hot chocolate without sweeteners.

I take about a table spoon of cocoa powder and mix it with cream to a soft, creamy consistency that will mix well with water. I top up with hot water just off the boil and mix well, adding more cream to taste. I do not want to use sweetener, so as to wean myself completely of the sweet taste, so this is an unsweet hot chocolate but it makes a lovely treat for me!

I have sometimes added crushed spices to the cocoa powder - freshly crushed cardamom works really well and is yummy. Cinnamon powder did not work so well - it went kind of jelly like and did not taste much of cinnamon... Perhaps bits of cinnamon sticks would work better.

A little sprinkle of cayenne powder adds a nice kick.
