My guess is that, if you had been on a higher carb eating routine prior to starting, the first big weight loss was excess fluid - which in my opinion is a good thing. I don't ever write that off as "JUST" water weight - you feel lighter, regardless.

As Dr. S. says, this is about healing yourself so that you can lose weight - in that order (not reverse).

this is common, you rarely lose inches and pounds at the same time, and if you are exercising you are building muscle which takes up less fat than muscle.

So many time when you aren't seeing the scale move you will see the inches coming off.

Somewhere recently I read that if you were eating the typical high carb American diet that you probably weren't getting enough protein. Now that you are, you are building up your muscles. Protein builds muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so as your body composition changes, you may not weigh less but you measure less, since muscle is more streamlined than fat. It's a good thing!
