Welcome, CB! Lots of support on this site, take some time to research and read the wealth of information here. Many find the information they need to make adjustments and fine tune how this way of eating (WOE) works best for them. Low carbing is certainly a change, but it breaks the mold in that it's different from other diets that severely restrict calories and are hard to follow. Once you start to develop your eating routine by stocking the healthy foods that work for you, it's then a matter of staying the course. Many of us have changed our WOE permanently to LC because it's healthy and easier to stay on for the duration. All the best!

Welcome calibrandy,

You have found a great forum for Low carb support and advice! Years of accumulated wisdom on all the various forums...look around the different active threads and see which one would most help you, consider starting a journal.

Please start though at the Newbie Advice sticky, http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=405273
it has good advice. The top tip of successful LCers is to Know your plan, read the book. many people think they know "Atkins" but there are rules that will help you succeed that somehow get lost in the "urban legend" version of Atkins.
The 2002 DA New Diet Revolution version is popular, you can find in a library or used book store, or the 2010 New Atkins for a New You.
In the meantime, here are the rules often used here.http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=236482
