Talking New Low Carber Intro

HI! I"M LCLJUDY low carb lady JUDY
I'm a 53yr. old/young menopausal women I'm trying ADKINS/low carb lifestyle to see if it will jumpstart my weight loss/metabolism it seems since menopause the weight won't budge I know I must exercise more!
SORRY for the late intro my DH has been sick & then I got sick my DS helped me sign up since I'm not computer savvy it's been awhile so Ithought I better at least say HI! I'm looking forward to meeting & learning from all of you
Low carb is new to me I've done LOW FAT LOW CAL= LOW ENERGY for sooo long I'm ready for a change
I thought I would gain weight at first .you know my body getting used to the extra fat
I have not lost but I have'nt gained either
I would like to lose 15-20lbs but I'd be HAPPY with 5- 10lbs to start with it's been sooo long since I've seen a lose my age & menopause does'nt help but I know not to use it as an excuse! NICE TO MEET YOU ALL SORRY FOR RAMBLING!! JUDY

Welcome, Judy!

It would help you a lot to read one of Dr. Atkins' books if you want to follow his plan. There are at least 4 editions I know of, and the diet is a little different in each of them. Used copies are readily available at thrift stores and used bookstores.
