Hello, my name is Nancy. I have been doing Keto for 5 weeks. After 1 week, I had my cholesterol measured and it had dropped 28 points, well into the acceptable range. I also broke my leg after 1 week of keto so I have been unable to exercise. I have 3 more weeks with walking boot. I do continue to do upper body weights and core exercises. Reading through this forum, I only see Atkins Diet. Should I not be on this forum? I really am liking the keto diet and feel great on it and plan to continue it indefinitely.

Hi Nancy, others will certainly chime in, but let me first say that you are absolutely fine here on this forum aiming at getting into ketosis and staying there. You will find many people doing a wide variety of ways of eating. Check out various journals and forums, and I'm sure you will find the support you need. First step is to set up your own journal so people have a way to find you. Welcome, and all the best, your way of eating is up to you, -- the forum does not however support long term fasting -- if you begin to advocate that you might be reminded by the moderators of this fact -- otherwise, use the various forums to explore, research, and share with others what you are trying and how it is working for you! Take care,

Hi, I am in North Yorkshire and have been following LCHF for 4 weeks now and having excellent results in terms of symptoms, won't know about blood tests for another few weeks yet, but am wondering if there are any local groups or networks of people? If there isn't a network can we get one going

You are definitely welcome here.

I did spend time looking at other sections of this LC forum. Many options from paleo to atkins and many others. The common factor is lower carbs and a healthier outcome.

Hang in there. Hope your foot heals asap!!

welcome
Depending on what phase of Atkins you do, they are the same thing. Atkins Induction is a Ketogenic Diet. Good explanation of Keto: https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto
All the best,
