Default How many carbs in a sitting? (Induction)

Is it inadvisable to eat 7 to 10 carbs at one meal, as long as my overall day is under 20 for Induction? I am under the impression that 20 carbs a day will not cause one's insulin to spike, but I just wanted to check to make sure. (I'm counting total carbs, not net carbs.)

I don't think it makes any difference, unless you're having something like chili where you might have a lot of concentrated carbs in your tomato paste, onion, etc. As long as you're having your protein and ample fat along side, you're fine spreading it out however you like, especially if you're not subtracting fiber and you're sticking to the acceptable foods list and induction rules.

If you have diabetes you may find that you can tolerate more carbs at some times of day than at others, but if you don't then I don't think it matters so long as you have a good balance overall.

FWIW, Dr Davis (Wheatbelly) says 15 max at a time, because that's the level where it seems that insulin kicks in.

And to keep the 15 at least 4 hours from any more.

So, your idea would work fine, as would 10/10/0, if you are eating three meals a day.

Dr Bernstein's plan (for diabetics) recommends no more than 30 total grams per day with no more than 6 g at breakfast and 12 each at lunch and dinner.

if you plan to eat 5 meals a day and want to stay under 25 grams for the day, it makes sense to stay under 5 per sitting.

Keep it simple.
