Is it o.k. to have a sugar-free dessert during induction? I saw a recipe for strawberry ice cream...but now I can't find it.

Inductions is supposed to be 2 weeks of detox. Detox from carbs and sugar; it's whole foods and green veggies and more water than can sink a ship. Technically speaking, no, you're not supposed to be eating sweets, no matter how artificial they are. They can trigger cravings for the real thing and they cause a rise in insulin in many (just like sugar does). Go the two weeks without as Atkins intended; chances are at the end you wont want the replacement sweets. After all, the idea is to kick the addiction, not replace one with another.

My 2 cents
Nat

Thank Nat, your 2 cents is worth a million bucks right about now.
I realize that this two shall pass.

I appreciate your keeping up with me 2! Thanx for keeping it real. You're an angel. Matter of fact for whom it concerns...there's a lot of 'em out there. "post often" is good advice.
